Hall Ings Garth, Spaunton

Planning consent was negotiated to replace an existing stone outbuilding with a new two storey dwelling and garage in the North York Moors National Park. The main frontage to the house faces the road and has been designed to reflect the traditional character within Spaunton.

The rear of the property faces south and overlooks the client's land with long reaching views beyond. The approach to this elevation and the key spaces facing south was to combine traditional materials with large areas of glazing to flood the property with light and frame the views.

A large steel and glass balcony extends the master bedroom outdoors and serves as a partial sun shade to the glazed doors below. The open plan ground floor spaces combine the kitchen, dining and living areas without creating a large unwelcoming space. new space / projects
